Bob Ewell
Bob Ewell was described as white trash. He was a low life white man who did not respect his family. He was a drunk and spent all his earnings on alcohol. His children had to work for themselves and did not have time to go to school, because their mother was gone. Bob Ewell did not think about his consequences, he kept acting without thinking. For example, Bob Ewell tried to kill Scout and Jem. He also blamed Tom Robinson for the "rape" and beating of his daughet Mayella Ewell. When Atticus tried to defend him, he did not appreciate it and went after his children. Including others apart of the trial, such as Judge Taylor, and Mrs. Robinson. Not only was he a cold-hearted, alcoholic, but he was also extremely racist. He played a big role in the KKK, and did not respect any colored person.

Atticus Finch
Atticus Finch is one of the most important characters in the book. Also an active character in the book. Atticus is the father of Jem and Scout, and he is the lawyer to Tom Robinson. Atticus is a humble, overall good person. He is a good role model to his children and the people living in Maycomb. He was the only grown adult who understood that everyone was equal. He did not believe in segregation, so he defended a negro man when no other lawyer would. He is a good role model for Jem and Scout because he taught them to ignore the bad comments made by residents in Maycomb about the trial. Atticus also taught them that everyone is equal and they shouldn't call them names such as “Nigger” or “Negro”,and taught them it was something offensive to say.
